Sleeping Beauty

Sue Garman's classic New York Beauty quilt comes in two sizes:  50 by 50 inches or 72 by 94 inches.  Complex and intricate, the pattern simplifies making the quilt through the use of paper foundations.  Quiltmakers must make copies of the foundation papers before sewing can begin.  The photos show the larger quilt, done in divil war reproduction fabrics, a close-up of a block and sashings from the large quilt, and a lap quilt made using Christmas fabrics.
