Baltimore Glory - Month Five: The Braided Fruit Basket

Month Five of Baltimore Glory provides the pattern for The Braided Fruit Basket block.  The block is 15 inches square (finished size).  This block is unusual in that the lip of the basket is actually made of braided stems, and there is a blue jay and kiwi fruit sitting in front of the basket.  Sue loves adding unique touches like that to her blocks.

This block-of-the-month has ten parts; the first nine patterns are each for a different album block and the tenth pattern provides instructions on setting the blocks and assembling the quilt top.  The patterns for the blocks each contain guidance for pre-work, off-unit applique, illustrated order-of-applique, embellishment, and alternatives that can either simplify or "dress up" your quilt.

Baltimore Glory, when finished, measures 87-1/2 inches square.
