Find grace and beauty in this replica of a civil war era quilt, made by Sue Garman. Although this quilt has oodles of pieces, it is worth the time and effort required to cut and stitch them together. The big dogtooth border offers a place for some special quilting, as shown in the close-up photo of Sue's quilt. The finished quilt measures 67-3/4 by 86-3/4 inches. Sue recommends using paper-pieced 1-1/2 inch half-square triangles to make the stars; in an unusual twist, they are used to make the quarter-square triangles in each of the Ohio Star blocks.
