Baltimore Glory - Month Eight: The Blue Basket

Month Eight of Baltimore Glory provides the pattern for The Blue Basket block.  The block is 15 inches square (finished size).  Sue likes to insert something unique in each block, and this block has some two-colored cherries in it, along with some "hexagon flowers" that are made by folding fabric, not using English paper-piecing to make them.

This block-of-the-month has ten parts; the first nine patterns are each for a different album block and the tenth pattern provides instructions on setting the blocks and assembling the quilt top.  The patterns for the blocks each contain guidance for pre-work, off-unit applique, illustrated order-of-applique, embellishment, and alternatives that can either simplify or "dress up" your quilt.

Baltimore Glory, when finished, measures 87-1/2 inches square.
